Benefits

“Yoga is a healing system of theory and practice. The purpose of yoga is to create strength, awareness and harmony in both the mind and body.”

While there are more than one hundred different types of yoga, each of them benefits is in various ways. For examples, the relaxation techniques incorporated in yoga can lessen chronic pain, such as lower back pain, arthritis, headaches and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Physical benefits that can be achieved by doing yoga include increased flexibility, muscle strength and tone; improved respiration, energy and vitality; maintenance of a balanced metabolism; weight reduction; cardio and circulatory health; improved athletic performance; protection from injury.

Aside from the physical benefits, one of the best benefits of yoga is how it helps a person to manage stress (as mentioned in yoga and lifestyle), which has been known to have devastating effects on the body and mind.

Because there are so many different kinds of yoga practices, it is possible for anyone to start. The idea is to explore your limits, not strive for some pretzel-like perfection

Yoga and Lifestyle

Modern lifestyle and sedentary lifestyles take their toll on our bodies, resulting in stress and disease. It is proved that yoga plays a significant role in fighting these conditions, while ensuring total well being on our minds.

Yoga is not just about working out, it is about a healthy lifestyle. With the world that is full of chaos we are living in today, it is hard to allow ourselves to be still, yet yoga allows us to find our inner peace. Peace and tranquility achieved through focused training appeals to everyone.

Especially students, we all receive stress from our assignments and the pressure from our parents, thus it is more important to reduce the anxiety and manage the stress. Accessing to an inner strength, yoga helps to face the sometimes-overwhelming fears, frustrations, and challenges that we can never learn in school.

A few yoga exercises practiced daily help to regulate the breath and relax the body by gently releasing tension from the large muscle groups, flushing all parts of the body and brain with fresh blood, oxygen, and other nutrients, and increasing feelings of well being.

Daily practice of complete relaxation and meditation is also essential – even a few minutes of meditation can make a difference. It can ensure you greater self-awareness and a fuller and happier life.
